Farewell Tita Cory

Our Icon for the Country's Unique democracy was put to rest yesterday at the Manila Memorial Park. She was the 11th President of the Republic of the Philippines, serving from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of any country in Asia. Her presidency saw the restoration of democratic institutions in the Philippines, through the enactment of a new constitution which limited the powers of a president.

I would estimate that millions of Filipinos lined the streets from the Manila Cathedral all the way to the Manila Memorial. It took the convoy roughly 9 hours to travel 23 kilometers. It was definitely something else.

This was today's paper
read the second page.

I guess its not just a few people in the Philippines who would want the incumbent president in there.

Labor Day Weekend

Went over to my Dad's house in Bulacan for the weekend. Nothing to do there but eat. and swim. and eat. and eat. But I guess thats how holidays are supposed to be spent right? Trina and baby Zen came with us. Zen is Saritas BFF! hahaha so much pressure for them to get along don't you think?!
For some reason I just love this photo.

Happy Easterita!

This years Easter Egg hunt was different. Instead of looking around for it you had to swim for it! hehe Sarita couldn't really go swim for it so we just let her have most of it! ha ha Enzo (my nephew) had to show off his swimming skills this time. Good thing he had some to begin with.

Enzo didnt like the idea that he had to give half of what he got to his cousin Javi. Look at him here trying to explain his side! hahaha priceless!

Macau!

Went on a short trip to Macau and Hongkong with Trisia's family. It was my first time in Macau and I really enjoyed it! Great great food and really cool weather! But the ferry ride to Hongkong was a killer! That i did NOT enjoy. But I've always been prone to being sea sick.
We ate in this really really good Portuguese Restaurant in Macau called Fernando's. It was a 20 minute Taxi ride from the Venetian Macau. Hard part though since its outside the city is that you have to wait for a taxi to get back. Which isnt too frequent. They had roasted pork (lechon) which was a delight in every way you can imagine. I will definitely go back even just for that.

This is what i envy the most. seriously. She loves her momma so much! With me she gets all irritable! hehe in time...

Porta Verde

Trisias and my family stayed overnight at a friends resort in lake Lumot in Caliraya. Apparently Lake Lumot and Lake Caliraya are 2 man made lakes that are actually a reservoir for the hydroplant! cool huh? Anyway, it was freezing that day, and the water was extra cold so forget about getting in!

Funny thing happened though when we went for a look around the lake. The 2 boats we were on ran out of gas! haha Basically our boat drifted for about an hour and a half till we got to this house who was more than willing to give us gas. Sounds east right? Hell no! We had to use the roof as our sail to make our way there. Hahahha man whattan afternoon. But everything was good and we got to enjoy the rest of the night.

The next morning it was Saritas 3rd month so we took photos by a well... a pool table. hehe turned out ok though.

Happy MonthSarita!!!

Baguio / Bulacan

Since we had a really long break from work, my family (still getting used to that, hehe) namely Trisia, Sarita the help and I went to baguio to test all the heavy coats we got Sarita... Roughly about 11 Celsius when when the sun went down and i must say... the coats did prove to be pretty toasty!

All of my friends who have been to our house in baguio knows where this photo was taken...

On the way down from Baguio my parents, sisters and all my nephews stayed over at my Dads rest house in Bulacan so we stayed the night as well.

Barbaric!

Ear piercing is one of the oldest known forms of body modification and beautification, with artistic and written references from cultures around the world dating back to early history. In my opinion, this should be STOPPED! I think children should have the choice to have their ears pierced or not.

Why am i reacting this way? Well, i'll give you a background... My Daughter even when injected by vaccines cries for about 2 seconds. I know a lot of adults who squirm and are on the brink of tears with their vaccines but my daughter doesnt. Today, for the first time my daughter cried for about an hour. why? because of an outdated barbaric custom called Ear Piercing!

She looked at me, just as the gun snapped as if telling me... why are you consenting to this?! Hay... next time i have a daughter. i am giving her the choice.... hehe

Happy Monthsarita!

She's 2 months old today! and we just came back from a weekend in Baguio. I wouldnt really know if she enjoyed it but she wasn't crying much! hehe I also took out my canon 135 f/2L for a road test. hehe all I can say is... Its tack sharp! If you have a full frame body, then go get one! only reason i said that is coz if you have a cropped sensor you'd be looking at almost 200mm... thats gonna be pretty hard to shoot indoors! Heres a sample... not too shabby now! oh and did i mention it was shot wide open??
This photo i just had to share! taken by my LX3... babyyyy!
